Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has extended his heartfelt condolences to Sani Golden and the entire family of the late Alhaji Abubakar Idris Shilak, who passed away at the age of 85.

Governor Mutfwang described the demise of Alhaji Abubakar Idris Shilak of Washna, Panyam, in Mangu Local Government Area as a painful and significant loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the Muslim Ummah and the wider community of Mangu Local Government Area and Plateau State at large.

The Governor paid glowing tribute to the late elder statesman’s life of service, noting his distinguished roles as Deputy Chairman (Administration) of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Mangu LGA, as well as his service as a retired Army personnel who served the nation with honour, discipline, and dedication.

According to Governor Mutfwang, Alhaji Abubakar Idris Shilak exemplified humility, faith, and selfless leadership, earning widespread respect for his commitment to Islamic teachings, community development, and peaceful coexistence—values he upheld throughout his lifetime.

The Governor further acknowledged the late patriarch’s legacy as a devoted family man who raised his children and was blessed with many grandchildren, leaving behind generations inspired by his guidance, wisdom, and moral uprightness.

On behalf of the Government and people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep sympathy to Sani Golden, the entire Shilak family, JIBWIS Mangu LGA, and the people of Panyam and Mangu Local Government Area. He prayed that Almighty God grants the departed soul Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort the family with strength, patience, and peace during this period of grief.
